Charlton Heights Elementary School PTA

Passive fundraisers earn money or points that directly benefit CHES by asking families to simply register or shop as you normally would through local and commercial businesses.  Those businesses then reward our school with either a cash award or new equipment.  Our school participates in a number of these fundraisers:  Hannaford Helps, Price Chopper’s Tools for Schools, Box Tops for Education, Target's Take Charge of Education, and the Campbell’s Labels for Educations Program.

Box Tops for Education is a simple way you can help raise money for our school without spending any more money than you usually would!  Simply cut out the box top square from participating products and send it into school with your child.  Some products have more than one box top - so keep your eyes peeled!  General Mills literally pays CHES 10 cents for each box top.  Stop and think about how many dimes you might be throwing away every day—dimes that help pay for books, supplies and special programs for our students.

 

The PTA does not earn any points, all points earned go directly to CHES who in turn can redeem points for new school equipment.  The PTA eagerly helps promote the program by distributing information and communicating the program goals.

Classroom Contest: 
2009-2010 School Year - The PTA sponsored a contest for the most Box Tops collected, the winner from September - December, 2009 was Miss Donofrio and Mrs. Hall's classes and they received a special party.  As of January, 2010 CHES has earned over $1,700.  Wow!!  The Spring contest is now underway so keep snipping! 
 
2008-09 School Year - Miss Donofrio's class was the first place winner for both the Fall/Winter period and for the Spring/Summer Period and they enjoyed a Pizza Party and Ice Cream Party for their efforts.
 
Items Purchased for School:
Picnic tables for the courtyard, benches for the Main Lobby, new Charlton Heights banner in the cafeteria, computer and projector system for
presentations in the gymnasium, digital camera for use on the yearbook, etc.

Price Chopper's Tools for Schools

Sign up to earn education equipment - its quick, easy, and costs nothing to participate. You do not need to re-sign up each year.  The program begins in early August and ends mid-February.

 

  1. Register at Price Chopper online 
  2. Type in our School Code 15697
  3. First and Last Name.
  4. Type in your 10 digit Advantage Card number.
  5. You do not need to type in your email or phone number, this doesn't affect Sunoco savings. 
  6. When you use your AdvantageCard, CHES automatically receives credit.

Items Purchased for School:  
Paper Shredder, binding machine and supplies; Califone PA wireless microphone system (awarded); overhead projectors; folding tables; playground balls and sports equipment for recess; board game cart; art supplies, and tons of teacher chosen classroom supplies.


Hannaford Helps Schools

Conduct your regular grocery shopping at Hannaford and deposit your receipt into the special school “slot” right at the store or send into school with your child.  It's that easy!

Hannaford Helps Schools program typically runs from the beginning of September through the beginning of December. 

Items Purchased for School: 

Outdoor Shade Tents, Board games, $1,000 to support the Magic Maze playground rebuild, sports equipment
for recess (sleds, playground balls, soccer net, hula hoops, etc.). 

Target's Take Charge of Education 

  1. Get or apply for a Target credit card.
  2. Enroll your school, CHES #75610.
  3. Shop as usual and Target will donate up to 1% of your REDcard purchases to CHES.

Campbell's Labels for Education

Clip UPC codes from any Campbell Soups, Prego sauce, Goldfish, Pepperidge Farm cookies, Franco American pasta, and V-8 beverages & earn points toward valuable equipment for our students.
